Through the acquisition of Chemagen, PerkinElmer is now a key player in the field of automated nucleic acid isolation and purification. Chemagen's proprietary M-PVA Magnetic Bead technology and high performance instruments deliver high purity, high yield DNA, RNA, and viral DNA/RNA from sample volumes between 10 ?l - 10 ml. Kits are available for use with a wide variety of sample types including blood, serum/plasma, tissue, saliva, buccal swabs, amniotic fluid and feces. Including the Chemagen team, PerkinElmer employs over 7,500 employees worldwide.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated, organized and assertive Field Sales Specialist possessing the drive and desire to exceed goals in the territory. The position requires solid, working knowledge of current research techniques and a strong knowledge of DNA/RNA purification. The selected individual must have the ability to conduct highly technical demonstrations at customer sites.
TERRITORY: Mid-Atlantic
Key Responsibilities:
o Meet or exceed territory sales targets for products and assigned business objectives
o Develop tactical sales plans to maximize revenues
o Conduct technical demonstrations of the products
o Effective use of seminars, tradeshows as lead generators and education opportunities
o Negotiate contracts, execute pricing strategy to maintain existing & develop new business.
o Maintain a strong customer focus through consultative selling, enhancing customer satisfaction, building trust and strong relationships
o Partner with industrial partners who integrate our technology with their own
o Daily use of CRM database to increase sales effectiveness and forecast accuracy
o Perform daily pre-call planning for increased sales effectiveness
o Recognize market trends and gain competitive intelligence within territory
o Meet expense budget guidelines
Job Requirements :

o 5+ years of successful sales experience in the Life Science market
o Minimum B.S. in Life Sciences (biology, molecular biology preferred)
o Working knowledge of DNA, RNA purification; hands-on experience with instrumentation techniques
o Strong presentation, analytical, customer service skills complimented by an aggressive and solutions-oriented track record in sales
o Approximately 70% travel
